2009 Year in Review

This year ITS From the Heart has expanded to meet the needs of the Spanish speaking and reading veterans. Puerto Rico, a possession of the USA, has a couple military bases. The men and women veterans participated in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. 94 lives have been lost and many more have been injured. Their first language is Spanish; English is secondary. There is a need for cards written in Puerto Rican- Spanish dialect for the injured. I took a trip to Puerto Rico and brought back cards for the injured Puerto Rican veterans in their Spanish dialect. I have arranged with a church in San Juan to provide more cards in the future.
Other veterans throughout the US speak and read Spanish but it is of the Mexican dialect. Schools in the US teach the Mexican-Spanish dialect. Cards are being collected from all age groups for these soldiers. Reading cards in a familiar language is comforting and gives emotional support.

From my trip to England

I went to England in May of 2007 to do some ancestor research. There was a base next to the base I stayed at. I went to a hospital that was close but it did not receive British injured soldiers. I asked the British Commander if he would receive the cards and letters from my church in Buffalo who quickly and willingly wrote cards and letters from the whole Sunday school for the British inured soldiers to show thank you for assisting American soldiers in the war effort in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was surprised and thankful. He received the cards and transferred them to the hospital that receives their injured soldiers. They were passed out gratefully.

A Letter From the Co-founder

ITS From The Heart, which stands for injured troop support from the heart is open to any person, group, organization, or business who would like to participate. Cards and letters are continuously collected and sent to the soldiers, who have been injured in Afghanistan or Iraq and are at the military hospital in Germany. These cards and letters greatly help the soldiers to recover and show them how much they are cared about. The caretakers of the injured soldiers are also included in this. Cards and letters can be designated to doctors, nurses, and any other service which participates in the care or treatment for the soldiers. All these service members are away from home and family or friends and need support in there difficult daily tasks.
This ministry comes from God's heart of showing His love for all people. All who participate are being good Samaritans and showing love to your neighbors as in Luke 10:25-37. It is an honor and privilege to co-labor with God in this ministry. Thousands of cards, letters, magazines and gifts have been sent to the soldiers.
God has miraculously brought everything together for this ministry to function. Providing contact at the military hospital, financial assistance from the Niagara falls Air Base family support, this web site by my step son Jon, and all of you who are participating by sharing your love to these injured troops. Praise the Lord for all he is doing!

In His service,
